Dr. James A. Harris, MD, FACS

Dr. James A. Harris is an internationally prominent surgeon in the field of hair restoration surgery and a published author of both medical and consumer publications. He is a faculty member of the University of Colorado School of Medicine, where he teaches hair transplantation to resident physicians in training and community physicians. His focus on state-of-the-art medical and surgical techniques and dedication to patient advocacy has firmly established him as a leader in the field of hair restoration.

As director of the Hair Sciences Center of Colorado (www.hsccolorado.com), he has established a practice dedicated to patient education and the highest standards of care.

A facial plastic surgeon, Dr. Harris received his medical degree with honors from the University of Colorado School of Medicine in 1989. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Otolaryngology, Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, and a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery.


Physician Assistant
Karen L. Matusik, PA-C, CLS

Karen is a graduate of Cornell University Medical College's Physician Assistant - A Surgical Focus Program. In addition to over 20 years experience in hospital and office based practice encompassing surgical subspecialties such as Plastic, Orthopedic and Head and Neck Surgery; she is also a graduate of Rocky Mountain Laser College-earning a Certified Laser Specialist certificate.

She strives to promote vitality from the inside out-attending holistic, energy and nutritional medicine conferences and integrating their principles into her practice.

When not working she actively participates in figure skating, mountain sports such as downhill and backcountry skiing, and snowshoeing in the winter; swimming, cycling, hiking and backpacking in the summer.

She counts her treks in Peru and Nepal, with Everest Base Camp in Tibet among her most memorable international experiences.
